Mural is a non-profit organization that does local journalism from the low-income communities of Greater São Paulo. These communities account for 85% of the territory and population, or 18.5 million of the 22 million inhabitants. It operates in 39 municipalities. The operation is based on having a network of local correspondents who live in the areas they cover. There are currently 70 local correspondents. In São Paulo, the correspondents are linked to neighborhoods.
