Agencia Tierra Viva

https://agenciatierraviva.com.ar
Agencia Tierra Viva is a cooperative media outlet that was formed in 2019 at the initiative of historical organizations in the countryside: the Union of Land Workers (UTT), the National Indigenous Peasant Movement (MNCI-Somos Tierra) and the Federation of Federated Cooperatives (Fecofe), three key actors in pursuit of food sovereignty. Through its website (www.agenciatierraviva.com.ar), social networks and digital newsletters, the Agency takes advantage of its development and territorial insertion to produce informative content on a daily basis and with federal criteria: research notes, analysis columns, interviews and photo galleries. The agency is made up of a group of communicators, photographers, designers, illustrators, who interact with more than a dozen popular communicators from the three organizations (UTT, Fecofe and MNCI-Somos Tierra). At the same time, Tierra Viva maintains links with more than 50 communicators from all over the country and a dozen popular media that feed the information agency and in turn feed on it for their own agendas. The birth of the medium is specifically linked to the absence in Argentina of a news agency with these characteristics, that reports on issues related to the agri-food model from the perspective of small producers, and that makes family-peasant-cooperative agriculture visible. Tierra Viva Agency makes visible those “other fields” that throughout the country generate work and produce healthy, safe and sovereign food for the domestic market, as opposed to a model designed exclusively to export commodities without taking into account the social, environmental, health and economic consequences. Its work in photojournalism stands out, linked to providing real content to various journalistic media about current events in the field. In 2022, they received a Mention in Photojournalism from the “Whale/Freedom Project”.
