Coar Notícias, based in Piauí, is a news-checking project focused on the Northeast and North of the country. Coar was created in 2020 by journalist and PhD in Communication Marta Alencar, with the aim of expanding news coverage in the region and combating news deserts. Currently, in addition to the website, Coar has a podcast called E-Coar and supplies information to local partner radios, TVs and portals.
