Published by the North Carolina Coastal Federation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit group dedicated to protecting and preserving the North Carolina coast, Coastal Review provides objective reporting, information and commentary on issues, policy and notable figures and history with a specific focus on the environment and people of the state’s 20 coastal counties. Coastal Review operates with full editorial independence from its publisher. While the Coastal Federation often advocates for better laws and policies, Coastal Review is not an advocacy publication. They’re not interested in one-sided stories packaged as “news.” Their stories are written by professional journalists, who strive to meet the highest standards of fairness and accuracy. The editor works to ensure those standards are consistently met. Editorial decisions are made independently of the publisher and any other persons or interests.
