Congresso em Foco was founded in 2004 with the aim of covering facts and events in the National Congress. Sylvio Costa, the initiative's founder, worked as a political press officer and decided to innovate by creating a journalistic initiative focused on political coverage in Brasilia. Initially, the coverage was only of the legislative branch. Over the years, Congresso em Foco became more structured and expanded its coverage to other branches of government.
