The Dublin Inquirer is an independent publication serving Ireland's capital. It was founded in 2015 and does not accept money from advertisers. Instead, Dublin Inquirer is a worker-owned co-operative fully supported by readers. Its ethos is to produce original reporting and writing that is accurate, impactful, thoughtful, and collaborative. The publication does not follow the news cycle, aiming instead to produce in-depth reporting about the issues that shape Dublin. The Dublin Inquirer publishes online once a week and produces a monthly printed issue. The media organisation provides a unique service to Dublin because no other media outlet covers the city government to the same extent. In 2022, the team was part of the cross-border project Cities for Rent, which won the European Press Prize Innovation Award. And in 2019, the publication's editor, Lois Kapila, was shortlisted for the prestigious Orwell Prize for Journalism.
