The Eganville Leader is an independently owned weekly community newspaper based in Eganville, Ontario, that has served west and central Renfrew County for over a century. Founded in 1902 by Patrick McHugh, the paper began as one of two newspapers in the community and, after surviving a devastating town fire in 1911 that destroyed both presses, continued as the sole local paper. Its long history includes ownership by the Tracey family since 1944, with Ambrose and Sylvester Tracey purchasing the publication and later passing leadership to Ronald and then Gerald Tracey.
