Fort Worth Report is a nonprofit online news outlet founded in 2021 to provide coverage for Fort Worth, Arlington and Tarrant County residents. The outlet primarily publishes via its website, as well as through daily, weekly, and breaking news newsletters, as well as on multiple social media channels, with specific coverage focusing on Fort Worth and Arlington, as well as regional news. Fort Worth Report’s coverage includes local economy, education, environment, health, local arts and culture, and civic issues relevant to residents of the region. The outlet covers local politics and government, and covers local elections including voter guides, and is part of the Documenters program, which trains residents to cover local public meetings. Fort Worth Report also publishes in-depth reports and community features such as an events calendar, food and music coverage, local essays from residents, obituaries, Fort Worth Report has won multiple awards for journalism as well as 2024 Small Business of the Year. Fort Worth Report is a grantee of the American Journalism Project, and additional revenue sources include grants, event sponsorships, advertising, individual donations, licensing, and investments, with initial funding coming from the Burnett Foundation. The outlet publishes annual impact reports, and has developed a “Vision 2030” strategic plan charting its future growth strategy in the region.
