Four Points Media is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit media organization dedicated to giving voice back to the people of the Crow Indian Reservation by recruiting and training Indigenous talent to tell authentic Indigenous stories. The organization also partners with mainstream outlets to share coverage of Indigenous issues, working to counter decades of reductive mainstream reporting on Native communities.
Its vision centers on sharing the Indigenous experience through three branches: a news website (Four Points Press), a podcast network (Four Points Productions), and a publishing house (Four Points Publishing House), the latter two currently in development. The mission emphasizes producing meaningful, timely journalism and audio/literary works that inform, entertain, and reflect Indigenous life authentically, working both independently and in collaboration with the community.
Four Points Media is based in Crow Agency, Montana, and covers the 2.2-million-acre Crow Indian Reservation along with the surrounding communities of Hardin and Billings. The organization is governed by a board of directors that includes local tribal members and people with regional journalism experience. It is reader-supported and funded in part by grants from the Reynolds Journalism Institute, Borealis Philanthropy, and LION/Google News Initiative, with support from the Tiny News Collective.
