Frontenac News is an independent community newspaper and digital news outlet that has served Frontenac County and surrounding rural Ontario communities since 1971. Originally formed as a grassroots effort to provide local communication and civic coverage in a region largely ignored by larger media, the newspaper grew out of community meetings in Sharbot Lake and early publications aimed at building local identity and connection across township boundaries. It is published weekly on Thursdays and mailed free to households throughout North, Central and South Frontenac, Addington Highlands, parts of Lanark County, and neighbouring rural areas.
