Gazeta Shneta expanded its audience in March 2020 when the Kosovo authorities reported the first cases of COVID-19. In the following months of the COVID-19 outbreak, Gazeta Shneta became the primary source of information for many isolated citizens because it was the only media outlet in Kosovo specialising in health sector reporting.

The information published by Gazeta Shneta reduced panic and helped increase citizens' awareness regarding the protective measures against COVID-19.
