Greenpointers is an independent hyperlocal news and community platform dedicated to the neighborhoods of Greenpoint and Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Since its launch in 2007, the outlet has served as a go-to source for neighborhood news, cultural coverage, food and event listings, and civic reporting. Through its website and social media channels, Greenpointers fosters conversation and connection among residents while maintaining a strong on-the-ground presence.
The organization is equally known for its role as a neighborhood connector through cultural programming and events. Its seasonal markets bring thousands of visitors to the historic Greenpoint Loft, providing a platform for small businesses, independent makers, and artisans. Greenpointers also produces Greenpoint Open Studios, an annual celebration of local creativity in which hundreds of artists and designers open their studios to the public, transforming North Brooklyn into a vibrant arts corridor.
Founded by Justice Carroll as a neighborhood blog, Greenpointers was later acquired by Jennifer Galatioto, who expanded its contributor network and launched its markets. In late 2014, local resident Julia Moak purchased the platform and further strengthened its editorial voice and community presence. Under Moak’s leadership, Greenpointers has grown into a respected cultural brand and one of the few enduring hyperlocal media outlets in New York City.
