Insajderi was founded in 2016 by two well-known investigative journalists, Parim Olluri and Vehbi Kajtazi. It is based in the capital of Kosovo, Pristina.
The organisation aims to expose corruption and organised crime through fact-based investigations, exclusive news, and extensive analysis. Insajderi's investigative journalists continuously publish stories of corruption involving government officials and influential business people.
Its most important section is Hulumtime / Analiza (in English: Investigations and Analysis), where the audience can find detailed stories about the misuse of public money at a local and national level. This section deals specifically with the misuse of public tenders and officials' involvement in criminal and corrupt affairs. Due to their reporting on various corruption affairs, some of Insajderi's journalists have been the target of physical attacks.
In addition to the rule of law, the organisation covers other topics such as politics, economy, finance, education, and human rights.
Insajderi has over eight million website visits annually and a significant presence on social networks, especially on Facebook.
The work of Insajderi has been recognised on several occasions. For highlighting corruption and organised crime cases, it won the Democracy Award in 2017 from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, which is financed by the Danish Development Agency and managed by the Kosovo Foundation for Civil Society (KCSF).
