“Nonada Jornalismo” was founded in 2010, dedicated to transcending the conventional view of culture and understanding it beyond artistic production. The initiative aims to amplify the diverse voices that make up Brazilian culture. Its focus covers a variety of topics, from artistic processes and cultural policies to traditional communities, popular cultures, artistic freedom, human rights, memory, and heritage.
The initiative believes in the need to update cultural journalism, valuing plurality and discovering new forms of culture. This includes exploring popular, LGBTQIA+, feminist, and quilombola cultures. “Nonada Jornalismo” seeks to provide a more inclusive and comprehensive perspective on cultural issues.
Its financial sustainability is guaranteed by various sources of funding, such as journalistic and cultural projects, grants, collective financing, advertising, and cultural content services.
