Noticiero Movil

Noticiero Móvil is a multimedia media that provides content in Spanish and English produced by students at the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada in Reno, Nevada, in the United States. It also publishes content from other bilingual media partners in the region, such as KUNR Public Radio and The Nevada Independent en Español. Its team is dedicated to working with the Latino community to provide unbiased, affordable, and relevant content in a context of diversity. It also strives to involve and engage the community on today's issues through local events and dialogues. Each semester, students produce multimedia content as part of the community, not just about a community. Thanks to a grant from the Online News Association, the Noticiero Móvil team has had the opportunity to experiment and develop this multimedia digital news site to cover stories about and for the Latino public of our region. This project is rooted in partnerships and meaningful reporting. It has made progress by organizing unconventional media events such as dinners and dance classes. Everything he does is guided by his fundamental desire to create a cohesive community united by the desire to connect and learn with each other regardless of background. He received the National Edward R. Murrow Award in 2018 and 2021 in the category of “diversity, equity and inclusion” for his bilingual and collaborative work with KUNR Public Radio and This Is Reno.
