Pozirk is a news outlet that publishes solely on Telegram, the region’s most popular messenger app. Established by the team behind Naviny.by, it continues the tradition of providing objective, accurate, and fast news reporting.

The newsroom builds on the example of Belapan, Belarus's first and only private news agency. Naviny.by and Belapan were obliterated by President Aleksander Lukashenko's regime in the aftermath of the 2020 protests.

These outlets were branded as "extremist", and their key editors and founders are currently in prison. Members of the team who managed to avoid arrest and flee Belarus have created Pozirk as an exile news outlet, and they chose Telegram as the distribution channel in order to avoid the government’s attempts to block independent websites.
