Digital platform dedicated to football, whose intention is to “democratize” the opinions and comments of this sport.
Unlike other media with similar characteristics, here it is the fans themselves who form this community, give their opinions, comment, debate, choose the figure of the match, etc. In this way, for the first time the microphone goes directly to the fans of this sport, who become commentators and protagonists of the portal.
Founded in 2009 by Luis Marambio, journalist and Javier Troncoso, currently there are about twenty people in its newsroom, who produce live programs and content for its website and social networks. Their growth in networks, especially on Facebook, has been exponential, and today they compete for the first places in terms of reach and interactions of sports media.
They started the idea with the "Dale Albo" project, focused on the most popular soccer club in Chile: Colo Colo. There they did almost the same thing as today, but in a more amateur way. That stage, linked to a particular club, was more problematic in financial terms. Sometimes it was difficult for them to obtain guidelines and negotiate with sponsors under the name "Dale Albo." In 2008, their luck changed: they won a government fund called Corfo that allowed them to launch, a year later, a new, more formal or neutral route: "RedGol." They did not abandon "Dale Albo", as it is still a “sister site”, with programs within RedGol and with its own social networks.
They have almost 3 million unique users per month and have over 14 million clicks per month, according to the data they manage from ComScore. In addition, since 2017 they have been associated with the Argentine network Futbol Sites and since 2021 they have been part of the Canadian company Playmaker Capital. Currently, the properties of Futbol Sites and RedGol are in the hands of the Danish company Better Collective.
