Founded by Shannon Peace in 2011, Shootin’ the Breeze grew from the idea of building relations between Pincher Creek and Crowsnest Pass after Shannon moved to southwestern Alberta. She hoped to share positive community stories and has since won numerous awards from the Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association for her coverage. Shootin’ the Breeze aims to share stories about the people, businesses, organizations, events, history and recreational opportunities that make southwestern Alberta unique. Its content is published online and weekly in print.
