South King Media was founded in 2007 by Scott Schaefer Schaefer launched The B-Town Blog as a hobby after noticing inadequate local coverage in the Burien area, and it quickly grew into a full-time business. He and his wife Theresa, who have lived in the South King County area since 1995, now manage the company together, with Theresa overseeing sales. South King Media operates eight hyperlocal news and events websites covering communities across South King County, including Burien, White Center, Des Moines, SeaTac, Normandy Park, Kent, Auburn, and Tukwila.
