Space City Weather focuses on current weather information for Houston and the general region, including heat waves, storms, flooding, hurricanes, ranging from regular updates during extreme weather events as well as regular forecasts. Additional coverage has included analysis of historic weather patterns, FAQs with questions from readers, and short videos for social media. The outlet has created the Space City Weather Flood Scale, designed to help residents better understand the impact of potential flooding in the area. For several years, the outlet maintained Tiempo Cuidad Espacial, a Spanish language version of the publication. Space City Weather was awarded the 2024 “Houstonian of the Year” award and has been honored by the Houston City Council.
